Teachers from Los Robles enjoyed reading stories and playing rhyming games with students from all over the city of Porterville at the Annual Porterville Celebrates Reading event at Veteran's Park on April 11th, 2015. Join us next year to help promote literacy in our community!
Los Robles kindergarten and first grade teachers hosted a parent workshop to teach parents how they can help their students at home practice reading. Parents and their student responded to and performed each of the skills presented by the teachers. It was a great success. We are continually working to build relationships between home and school to strengthen the academic achievement of every student.
Mrs. Crocker was paired with Ben Taylor of Stafford's to learn how to best prepare students for the work force. It is an annual event that brings school districts and business people together to ensure our students are employment ready.
For the past few weeks we have been working with a great Porterville College program called Science, Mathematics And Resources Technology or the SMART Lab. We have been learning about many science topics. We really appreciate the program and all the educational opportunities it provides our students.
Today, students from Los Robles participated in the annual Poetry on Parade. Students from other elementary schools comprising the Porterville Unified School District gathered at Santa Fe Elementary School to compete.
On Tuesday evening we held our annual Math Night. Los Robles teachers presented various math games to students, parents and community members. It was great to see so many students and their parents! Please click the link at the bottom of the page to view the photo album.
This week Los Robles celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday. Throughout campus we had guest readers read to our students. We appreciate all the community members that took the time to visit our campus and read to our students
On Thursday, February 2015 students at Los Robles participated in the annual Poetry and Prose competition. There were over 30 acts! It was quite entertaining listening to all our students present their poems to the student body. This great competition was organized by Mrs. Curry, so be sure to thank her for all her hard work in organizing this fun event.
